When all the stars,
black holes and white dwarfs
burn their radiation away
the universe becomes
a uniformity of cold eternity -
the heat death would be on us;
the final death from which
there would be no resurrection
from the depths of entropy that hit
a zero so deep no understanding can penetrate.

All life would be dead
even the possibility of life:
Life is dead.

But what if we've gone through an eternity of big bangs,
not because they follow a heat death but because
every single time the most dominant life form realizes it was the last chance to reset time itself
we send ourselves into a singularity and set the big bang into motion?

What if eternal life
were a complete wipeout
entered into by one generation
that redeems one cycle of eternity at a time?

Then we've pretty much entered through the pearly big-bang gates;
Intelligent design is the end of evolution; and
This is Paradise.
